“We’ve created completely unnatural rhythms, structured upon an idea of productivity. Going back to the rhythm of Nature would be a good way to leave our “I must do” condition. Just by observing how long it takes Nature. What is time in Nature? It’s completely different from time for humans. We’re used to thinking in days, hours, even in minutes and seconds. For Nature time is something else. What is a second? It is the most important moment if it’s exactly when the flower blooms. An explosion in that precise second. But the second you sow the seed is nothing, because it needs time and water to sprout. It’s really a different concept of cycles which Nature can teach: patience! We’re used to wanting all at once. Instead, Nature will give at the right Time.”
“Everybody is like a clayball, with many seeds inside. I’m just offering water to those seeds. This is what Natural Farming did with me; I have all the seeds inside myself, it was just a matter of getting watered and some seeds started to germinate, others are waiting for the right condition to come to life. True nature is in people as well as in the fields. I noticed that it was a lot easier to connect with natural elements, to really look at the flower, to really look at the leaves, to sense the wind on my skin, hear the sound of rivers; in those moments, I was totally in Nature, in the present, I was living life. I am living life, now, I hear the cicadas singing, or I hear the wind in the woods, those are all messages that I’m alive, that I’m here in this moment and I’m alive. Then I recognized that the same connection is possible with human beings, with people, and the first action is to recognize the sacredness in everybody, and to see all the seeds that everybody has inside, not only the outer body, but the soul. Everybody has the same desire to reconnect with Nature, to come back to Nature, because it is so instinctual, it’s us, we are Nature, we’ve been separated from ourselves.”
“The moment in which Human Beings realize that Nature is the most important thing they have, they will start treating it with respect. And this is what Natural Farming wants to sow in the heart of the people. This attitude of seeing Nature as something sacred that is to be respected and is not to be exploited.”
